Gay, Inclusive, and COLORFUL – a Styled Shoot to Show What Weddings Can Be When You Ditch the Norms

This shoot was my passion project of the year and a birthday present to myself. Me and an amazing team of vendors (all credited at the bottom please go give them some love! ) came together to plan and execute a styled wedding shoot that focused on inclusivity and saying ‘yes’ to everything the patriarchal, heteronormative side of the wedding industry says not to do. This project featured:

• 9 LGBTQ+ Models featuring two real couples
• A shared wedding party (who says you have to have sides?)
• A new mom with her baby in the wedding party
• Non-alcoholic bar and custom mocktails
• 100% thrifted and hand-made attire including a piece made to accommodate a limb difference
• Hair + makeup for all – with attention paid to the model’s gender presentations
• Nonbinary wedding party attire that isn’t JUST jumpsuits
• Wedding cake with funfetti inside
• A vibrant, Lisa-Frank inspired retro theme
• …and so much more inclusive goodness!
